TOTAL RECALL

No, not the Collin Farrell movie. Yes, that will be amazing, but not as amazing as the original or our Total Recall. In 31 days CrossFit Dupont will be hosting a one day event that is for all Balance Gym athletes that will test muscular strength, power and mental toughness. Total Recall will include two events, the CrossFit Football Total and a Power Athlete MetCon. The CrossFit Football Total asks for the 1 Rep Max of the Power Clean, Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift, in that order. The sum of all three lifts will be your score for the CrossFit Football Total. Athletes will have 20 minutes to achieve a 1RM in each lift, and will be limited to 3 attempts. The MetCon and it’s standards will be announced the day of the event, but we guarantee it will include a full body workout, violent hip extension and change of direction. We are limiting the event to 60 athletes, and this will be open to Balance Gym members only, CrossFit or Regular. There is a registration fee of $30 that must be paid online to reserve your spot that can be purchased here.

    DWOD: 120# DL, DU: between 3-7 each minute. That’s low but I got a string of multiple DU a couple times so I’m happy. Today’s practice helped.

    DWOD – Deadlifts at 375, total double unders – 160. A few of the minutes I did not have time to do any double unders but I was happy to have made all 30 deads.

    Thanks for tips on deadlift form. I really tried despite how some of the late lifts looked. 160#, Double Unders: 260

    Was trying to perfect the “lift with the lower back” (stripper) technique till Tex gave me a few pointers for “correct” form.

    DWOD — 200# deadlifts. Missed one but made it up. Only got 92 double unders. Had a real hard time stringing them together and the deadlifts were wasting me.

    SWOD — Finished 50. HATE.

    SWOD- #125 DLS – Tex, Are you sure you want to go to prom with a Dead Lift? Not sure how they will look in a dress! but there were some beautys in the room to choose from.

    oh DUs – how you keep me up at night… today was great practice for the proper way to jump- step in the right direction and puts them back on the list of things to do- looked like an awesome workout- hot damn Johanna you were flying through them- good job! (I can tell you actually practice!!)

    Finally back in the US, looking forward to getting back to DC and working out with you all again.

    DWOD: Deadlifts at 225# and 380 Double Unders (managed to make it in between 20 and 30 each round).
    SWOD: 50 evil wheels (2×25)

    Hmm, I think I finally found how to get to the blog: yippee!!
    #130 Deadlift, completed all rounds
    #80 DU’s and agreed the practice helped significantly: I had several times with 3-4 in a row which was a first for me and inspired me to practice DU’s!!

    Great day! Despite strugging against bad DU habits most of the time, I feel like toward the end of the WOD I made some genuine improvements at keeping a hollow-rock and not donkey kicking.
    30 Dls at 225; 258 double unders (about 25 of those were attempts).
    50 evil wheels.
    Let’s keep drilling Double Unders!

    Before today I have NEVER done a DU, and today I was able to string a few together, HUGE accomplishment for me!

    DL @ 275 and did between 3-8 DU each round which totaled around 50-60. Not many, but WAY better than my previous record of ZERO!

    50 evil wheels at the end was just rough.
